Why you got involved at Chabad House: I didn’t discover the Rohr Center until the spring of my freshman year, when I got “adventurous” enough to venture just across the street from campus. What I found was an amazing, very complete, place. The Rohr Center offers everything that a Jewish student needs – community, tradition, study, good Jewish food, and a supportive atmosphere that accepts everyone without sacrificing its integrity. It is very easy to feel a little “homogenized” in college – everyone is different but everyone is afraid of standing out too much and being misunderstood. The Rohr Center gives me the opportunity to express my Jewish side freely and completely with a community of people who may be very different from me, but are looking for and finding the same amazing Jewish atmosphere.
Favorite Jewish food: Blumie’s salads. Any one of them would win a prize in the most prestigious cooking competition. No joke.
