Updated! Holocaust survivor Ronnie Breslow to speak at Haverford

We had many students join us at Haverford and they asked Ronnie lots of great questions. One student asked “How can we relate your experiences that happened to you in Germany to today?” Ronnie responded, saying, “Everyone has challenges in their lives… don’t be the bystander! Stand up for what you believe in and take action…”

Ronnie went on to explain that during Kristallnacht, not only were many Synagogues and stores destroyed but German neighbors, instead of standing up for their Jewish neighbors and protesting the destruction, just stood their as bystanders and some even looted all the Jewish stores. So not only were the Jewish store owners left with a destroyed store but everything in the store was stolen. Ronnie believes that if instead of the German neighbors being bystanders, they stood up for their Jewish neighbors, their could’ve been a different outcome. We can all learn from Ronnie’s powerful words.

On Tuesday, March 28th, Holocaust Survivor Ronnie Breslow spoke about her experiences during the war. Mrs. Breslow was one of 937 passengers aboard the M.S St. Louis destined for Havana, Cuba.

The event will took place at Haverford College in Chase Hall at 4:30 pm. Find out more about the event here!
